Fighting forgery: New character certificate launched

LAHORE: Traffic police on Monday introduced a new character certificate with security features. The new certificate was launched to thwart forgery attempts. CTO Sohail Chaudhry said the certificates would be printed on papers used for printing judicial papers. He said the certificates had security features identical to currency notes. The certificates would be published by the Punjab Printing and Stationary Press. Chaudhry said appearing before the authorities had been made mandatory for persons applying for the new character certificates. He said the certificates would be directly posted to applicants to authenticate addresses. The CTO said this exercise would make it impossible to forge the document.
