Shot dead: Three people killed, six arrested in separate incidents

An unidentified man was found dead in Lyari within the limits of the Sher Shah police station .

Three people gunned down while six people were arrested in the city on Friday.


A police constable identified as Allah Dino was shot dead near Gulshan-e-Maymar Complex within the limited of the Sohrab Goth police station.

SHO Muhammad Shoaib said that the deceased had left home for some work when at least two motorcyclists shot at him multiple times. He was taken to Aga Khan University Hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The SHO added that the deceased was posted to the police headquarters in Garden.

An unidentified man was found dead in Lyari within the limits of the Sher Shah police station. The police claim that the body had been lying near the river for at least three days. They added that there were no marks of torture or bullets found on the body. SHO Ejaz Ali Khwaja said that the deceased was strangled to death. The body was taken to Civil Hospital, Karachi, for the autopsy.

In an unrelated incident, another unidentified man was found dead near the Finance and Trade Centre building within the jurisdiction of the Brigade police station. SHO Ghulam Nabi Afridi said that the nature of his death was yet to be ascertained. The body was taken to the Edhi morgue for identification after the medico-legal formalities were completed at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Busted

Four suspects were taken into custody during a raid conducted in Hussainabad, Azizabad. Sources in the police claim that they detained men belonging to a political party and seized weapons from them. They were taken to an undisclosed location for questioning.

Separately, a man identified as Saleem Khan, a close aide of Lyari gangster Ahmed Ali Magsi, was arrested in a raid carried out in Chanesar Goth within the limits of Mehmoodabad police station. The police claimed that Khan was wanted in several criminal cases.

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell has arrested an incharge of the Shanti Nagar police post, ASI Jabbar Abro, while they are still searching for the former SHO of Aziz Bhatti police station, Ghulam Hussain Pirzada and two journalists who are wanted for their alleged involvement in kidnapping for ransom cases.
