Efforts by the Punjab chief minister, who has held multiple meetings with the Interior Minister in recent days, though seem to have finally paid off.
Reports suggest that Nisar will meet with the Prime Minister on Saturday. However, in the first phase of the meeting, no contentious issue is scheduled to be discussed.
Shahbaz has held three meetings with the interior minister in last four days, trying to woo the estranged leader.
Earlier, there were reports of fissures developing between Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and his party.
According to reports three informal powerhouses have emerged within PML-N and the stalwarts leading these groups have started lobbying within the party to remove each other from important portfolios or deflate their influence.
The three groups are led by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Defence and Energy Minister Khawaja Asif and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
Party officials reveal that Nisar is the most influential of the three group leaders or has the ‘strongest’ group as he is the closest to Shahbaz Sharif. On the other hand, Khawaja Asif’s group, which includes Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, is known to be under Prime Minister Nawaz’s wing. Dar’s group, meanwhile, enjoys the favour of both the Sharif brothers and includes State Minister for Telecommunication Anusha Rehman and Premier Nawaz’s daughter Maryam Nawaz.
Although both Nisar and Khawaja Asif have strongly opposed each other’s proposals whenever they were presented before the party leadership, they are both united in their opposition towards Dar, who they think uses – rather, abuses – the extra powers he has been given by the prime minister.

Nisar will suffer more in the end. Never forget he is from an Army family and such persons are like plants in every political party. Plus Nawaz is not the sort to forget this slight.
Nawaz Sharif dont like this attitude and will keep this as grudge, he loves absolute power and even after patch up. MNS will let it go and will bite back and make a mess. Nisar should know better about Nawaz Sharifs after all these years.
Good Governance must mean to hand over power to Musharraf, Altaf Hussein, Imran Khan, TUQ, Sheikh Rasheed and the Gujrat Tola. I am sure they will do great wonders with their vision in this magical kingdom.
These politicians are just for themselves. Not for the country. Nawaz is not only pompous but absolutely self centered. They are once again detrimental to the country. Who needs this democracy!
A war is being fought, almost half a million idp's are homeless , a Canadian National is trying to bring revolution, kpk gov is trying to bring down the federal government. And here our interior minister doesn't feel like working. Just another day in pakistan.
Just like Sharif Senior did a patch up between Musharraf and the Sharif Brothers. This will not last long. Nawaz is notorious for his rancor.
When country is waging war against enemies, internal bickering and palatial intrigues are consuming the government.
Nawaz is proving a weak, and visionless prime minister. He can't control his party, he won't control the country.
Nisar's tantrums are bringing the country to its knees. Overall, the "experienced team" of "good governance" in "naya Pakistan" has turned out to be a complete nightmare.
