Domestic violence: Drug user kills wife, injures family

The accused also injured his mother and sister-in-law when they attempted to rescue his wife.

ABBOTTABAD: An alleged drug addict shot his wife dead and injured his mother and sister-in-law when they asked him to stop taking the drug during Ramazan. Police quoted Sadiq, a resident of Jaral village, saying he married his daughter Rubina off to Aftab, a close relative, two years ago. She often complained of Aftab’s behavior as he was addicted to hashish and beat her over flimsy excuses. However, he advised his daughter to not seek separation. At Sehri, Aftab wanted to smoke hashish which Rubina asked him to avoid.  This infuriated Aftab, who first beat her and then shot her, killing her on the spot.  The accused also injured his mother and sister-in-law when they attempted to rescue Rubina.
