Madadgar 15: Action against fake calls to police helpline

KARACHI: Action will be taken against those who make prank calls to the police helpline, Madadgar 15, the Sindh police decided during a meeting on Tuesday. Sindh IG Iqbal Mehmood presided over the meeting at the Central Police Office. The meeting was told that 95 per cent of the total telephone calls made to Madadgar 15 are just prank calls. The IG said that such fake calls will not only be blocked but legal action will also be taken against such callers. He said that such calls cause problems to genuine callers, as Madadgar 15 telephone lines are engaged. Mehmood ordered to initiate SMS service to improve the performance of the helpline and sought a detailed report about its benefits.
