Free food: 120 Iftar Dastarkhwans set up in Bahawalpur

The district authorities have established 120 Iftar Dastarkhwans in various areas of the district.


According to a press release by the Bahawalpur district government, 30 Dastarkhwans have been set up in Bahawalpur city, 30 in Khairpur Tamiwali and 60 in Hasilpur, Ahmadpur East and Yazman. Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had directed officials to set up 2,000 Dastarkhwans in the province to provide free food to the poor in Ramazan. These Dastarkhawans were established in local mosques under the supervision of union council secretaries. In Bahawalpur city, the Dastarkhawans were providing free food to people in Eidgah, Tiba Badar Sher, Ahmadpur Road and Shadra areas. Over 300 to 600 persons were being given food at these places every day.

The district government said employees of the Finance Department, police, Civil Defense and union council were performing duties at these Dastarkhawans.
