MULTAN:

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Monday took notice of the alleged torture on a man for registering a kidnapping case against his rivals. The CM asked the Muzaffargarh district police officer (DPO) to submit an inquiry report.

Aslam, a resident of Meerapur, and his aunt, Mansab, were both severely beaten and their legs were broken by their rivals. Aslam had earlier registered a case against local landlord Jam Zafar for kidnapping his daughter. Zafar wanted to marry Saira. However, Aslam refused to do so and instead married her to someone else. Zafar allegedly kidnapped Saira when she came back home after the marriage. Aslam was allegedly kidnapped when he went to Rohilanwali police to register a complaint.

Police freed Aslam from a farmhouse that was owned by one of Zafar’s friends. He returned home on Monday when he and his aunt were assaulted and their legs were fractured.
