Girl dies in stray dog attack

CM seeks report from authorities

LAHORE:

An eight-year-old girl died after being attacked by a stray dog in the Quaid-i-Azam Industrial Estate area.

The victim, Mehar Qaiser, was reportedly bitten by a stray dog near Township's B-Block. Police said the dog inflicted severe injuries to the child's neck and arm, including a critical bite to the jugular vein.

The girl was rushed to a hospital in critical condition but succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Reportedly the child's parents declined to pursue legal action.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of the girl. She extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

She ordered a prompt report on the matter to ensure accountability and preventive measures.
