Bodla sets new record with 115 knee strikes

KARACHI: Pakistan’s Guinness Book of World Record holder Ahmad Amin Bodla created another historical moment for himself by striking 115 knee kicks in a minute at his academy in Bahria Town, Lahore.

The 21-year-old has already set 26 world records, and has several more pending to be approved for this year, including 835 kicks in three minutes and landing 355 martial art kicks in a minute in March.

With this new record, Bodla said that he will register his name among the trend-setters to promote martial arts in Pakistan.

“It is a new record altogether and I came up with this concept to emphasise that knee strikes are as important in martial arts as other moves,” Bodla told The Express Tribune.

“The minimum requirement of the record was to have one strike per second, but I know that I’ve at least achieved 115 strikes in a minute.”

Bodla said that he will be sending the evidence of his achievement to the Guinness Book of World Record headquarters in London.

“It’s important to be honest and transparent. The world record authorities verify any record after a very strict inspection. But I’m confident that I can add more records to my name, and more importantly Pakistan’s name in the Guinness Book by the end of this year.”

The youngster added that the standard procedure for verifying a record was to send the footage along with the remarks and comments from the three judges who witnessed the record being set.

“If we were in any other country, we would’ve invited the Guinness World Record officials, but since that is too expensive for me, we take the alternative route of sending evidence instead.”

This guy is my best friend ,he has accomplished so much in the last 2 years without any support from govt. The DG sports punjab board is personally against him and prevented him from breaking records in youth festival. He did everything at his own and now he is one of the biggest names from Pakistan in martial arts.International masters like John Ozuna , Robert Ardito and Raul meza have always applauded him.
