According to sources, the PM House stated that their daily expenditure amounts to Rs1 million. The amount includes salaries of staff members and spending on guests.
Imran Khan on Friday had said that the PML-N government was wasting money while IDPs were dying of hunger and disease.
He had stated that Rs4 million was spent every day on the PM House and millions were wasted on advertising.
The party chief had also made a veiled attack aimed at the prime minister and said that the rulers purchased two bulletproof vehicles costing Rs225 million while IDPs were deprived of basic facilities.

CM house of KPK has total budget of 300Million
This PM house shall be opened for accomodating IDPs. How could PM sleep in such a palace while watching millions marching without any clue of their future. Its already Ramadan and the heart really pains watching families displaced with bleak hope.
@Shuaib: Sorry, facts show that spending has actually increased under PMLN govt. Just search for any report on budget 2014.
Seems that he is Lier, his politics, personal life, everything is based on lies..
If its not my money and I have uninterrupted source of money, why would I care? PM should once take a look at those poor people who struggle to eat once a day, those internally disowned people who had to forego everything in their possession just to be content with the rationed food somewhere in a refugee camp.
Oh my God! I just can not understand the PMLN trolls! Wow! They are actually justifying spending Rs.30 million per month; Rs.360million per year of the tax payers' money; OUR money on the maintenance of the PM house. Do you guys even think before you write or speak? And please for the love of God, stop justifying this by saying the KPK government is a failure, blah blah! The headline is about the expenditure on the PM house. The day there is a headline on the failure of the KPK government, then you have the right to say what you want on the subject. But here, stay on the subject please!
I'm not surprised to see that a lot of noora's supports think that FATA is under KPK govt. as these are the same ppl who voted for him who lack basic knowledge about provinces, unfortunately 60% of my own relatives are of the same category who keep repeating "" Imran nai kpk Mai kon as teer Mara hai"" ppl and that is why Noora is never interested in education .. Otherwise these newly educated ppl won't be easy to fool with metro bus and laptops or motorways. 10 lacs is a lot of money for a poor nation noora should have followed Bloomberg's example of not taking and salary or claiming and expense from New York City as he is well off but that might happen in Pakistan in another 500 years not expecting anything from this govt.
It should be noted that the expenditure has been cut under PML-N and the PM didn't make PM house, it was gross negligence or rather - criminal negligence on the planner's part.
@N.Sid Before posting my first comment I had already seen those news links (other site). That figure is 6.7 crore and is of 2008, In Indian rupees.Electricity prices in Delhi increased a lot after that, basis on that as I assumed that present after 6 years, it might be nearby million Pakistani rupee, and I prefixed, approx.
Rs. 224 million on two cars and they have the audacity to howl austerity
@Jahangir: Please look into two things bro. How many loans has nawaz and family defaulted on? How much money has goldsmith family given IK. Google will be your friend.
Dear Imran khan how much have you spent on your jalsas ?
I believe that Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif are the most honest leaders. They have never done corruption even for a single rupee. During last one year of their government, there is not even a single mega scandal of corruption. We see lot of improvement if we compare it previous Zardari era. PML-N should rule for complete 5 years and then Public should decide their fate in the next elections.
All my prayers for Nawaz Sharif. He is a Made in Pakistan man. It was Imran Khan who had to find the richest in-laws in UK.
All hopes from Nawaz Sharif. No hope from Imran Khan.
From where did Imran get money to build Bani Gala Palace? He is also living super-lavish life.
Imran is habitual of blaming and accusing others without any evidence. Biggest shame for him.
@Sudhanshu Swami: It is approx 60 million per year for Rashtrapati Bhawan, that comes to about 5 million per month and about 0.16 million per day( 1 lac 60 thousand). Much less than your quoted figure. Cheers.
http://archive.indianexpress.com/news/pm-prez-parliament-spent-rs-14-crore-on-electricity/482703/
@Sudhanshu Swami: The point here is when the Indians/Pakistanis and for that matter Bangladeshis will come out of this British Colonial thinking of perks and privileges for the ruling elites at the cost of the poor and middle income people. In there own country the Britisher ruling class will follow strict monetary practices and in the earlier colonized countries they have set a bad precedent by creating the class differences. Can't get any worst than this. Need to break this status-quo and this burdensome system. Here poor supports the rich by paying taxes and the rich got scot-free and pay no or minimum taxes. The whole system is flawed and need to be changed and overhauled.
People just do one simple thing, go and read how much funds are allocated for Prime Minister and President House in 2014-15 Budget.........
For the PM Secretariat Rs779.35 million for the fiscal year of 2014-15 have been allocated.Daily expense of PM Secretariat and House would be Rs2.135 million daily for the next financial year.
For the President House, the total allocation of Rs743.25 million for the fiscal year of 2014-15 shows an increase of Rs53.641 million against the allocated amount of Rs672.71.The allocation of Rs743.25 million made for the Presidency for the coming financial year suggests that the Presidency would spent Rs2.03 million daily from the taxpayers’ money.
One million is a big ammount, considering that the average annual income is approximately US$420, and 35 percent of the population lives below the international poverty line. How can they justify one million rs a month? Can't believe that the taxes some of us are paying are going to waste.
@Adnan Siddiqi: Looks like PM has already budgeted for his travel: "The amount of Rs1.579 billion has been allocated for the prime minister for his foreign tours. If that amount was divided to 365 days of the year, the prime minister will spend Rs4,328,756 daily."
Source: google is your friend.
Looks like IK has a lot to learn from NS!!
PML-N government has surely lost its mind! Instead of being such a burden on the exchequer, NS is advised to travel to UK, Europe and North America every month and preside over $500/plate gala and fundraising events for free cancer treatment in Pakistan. The money generated in the form of zakat and fitra can then be routed through fake and dubious banking channels of Cayman Islands and invested in real estate holdings of Oman and Banigala through friends and associates like Amir Kiyani, Yusuf Salli, Moby, Goldy, Ash, Dash and Saif Niazi.
The twofold benefit of this exercise will be that NS would afford to live in a 300 Kanal house as well as fund his party activities, dharnas and nach gana shows.
NS has so much to learn from IK.
@Waleed Khan: it includes the dozens of bureaucrats who work in the Prime Minister's public and private secretariat.
A million pops a day is still a lot of money!!! Having said that, the last time I checked and someone can correct me if I am wrong here but IK happens to be a respected member of parliament and the parliamentary leader of his party - has he at any point brought up this subject up for a debate in the parliament or even submitted a motion in the NA in this regard?
I reiterate again, a million rupees a day is a huge sum for a country like Pakistan but I would also like to know and any erudite cult follower can enlighten me that in what capacity is IK using the resources of KPK Government in the form of using helicopters to address political gatherings and inaugurating different projects in KPK? While we are at it, we would also wish to congratulate PTI for massively bringing down government expenses in KPK since the CM now travels in a Suzuki Cultus without those intimidating security escorts and the rest of the ministers in KPK government perform their duties while riding on a Unique CD 70 motorbike.
Also, the treacherous federal and Punjab governments should also learn from PTI which has transformed the KPK CM and Governor houses into libraries and museums as promised by the great Kaptaan last year. I deliberately left out Sindh and Balochistan governments from the list of lesson seekers because the globe atlas IK usually refers to, Sindh and Balohistan are provinces of Mangolia.
Feeling shameful to live in a country where IDPs are treating like dogs; no food, no shelter and what they have had already taken by the govt and the PM and his allies are so busy in accumulating wealth. Waiting for the true change and justice when such leaders would be hanged to death.
To the people who are saying that Imran Khan should not do jalsas or sell his house for IDPs -
We are talking about Fed Govt wasting taxpayer money for its benefits rather than spending on IDPs, not PM's personal wealth.
Imran Khan and PTI are already doing a lot for IDPs. Why don't you people sell your houses to help IDPs?
Also, IDPs are from FATA and FATA is direct constitutional responsibility of Federal Govt, not provincial Govt. Yet Fed Govt has failed to discharge its duties effectively.
Even this amount is HUGE! Though I'm sure they're not the right figures. Add raiwand, model town & muree residencies to this 1 million per day - it'll easily cross 5 million rupees per day, just for Nawaz Shariff's housing expenditures, courtesy Pakistani awam :)
@Patriot. N: Buddy, he never asked Nawaz sharif to let go of his Raiwind home, he is talking about the expenses the govt. is incurring in the upkeep of the PM house, and I think he is right!
The prime minister should afford his state paid house when he has provided livable housing to every citizen. Till then he can sleep in his own palace. At state expense I'm not sure we can afford him lentil soup and some bread at the moment.
1 Million is too much for a poor country like Pakistan. My budget for the five years will not pass 1 million. I am not a big fan of PTI because they were doing personal slander and Dhandli, Dhandli and Dhandli but if they will raise such points then i will call it a Constructive criticism and Good Opposition.
@N.Sid get your facts straight. Number 10 has more than 100 rooms, half-acre backyard and an interior courtyard. Recently in 2011 it has been refurbished at cost of 5 million pounds!
Guys in Mush's era it was 8 million
@Patriot Don't be ridiculous why should he donate his land? He earned it and has the right to it. His taxes are in order, his money is in the country and has done more for the people of the country through his efforts. Sharifs, made their money in this country, Their wealth accumulation process lacks transparency, they have shifted the bulk of their wealth abroad and they have done little for the people of this land. They never do anything if there is nothing to be gained from the deed, whether its getting more power, political mileage or economic gain. There are always strings attached to their altruism (?) demeanor.
PTI should set example in KPK by converting CM House into University or some other public welfare project. According to Change philosophy, not a single penny should be spent on it. Imran Khan should convince Parvez Khattak to leave in his own house. He did not say anything about decision of KP government to buy bullet proof cars for ministers.
They are not concerned about common mans woes they only want their votes they are modern kings of the poor countries.
The Tribune is misinforming you. THAT is the pm OFFICE. Not the the house. You would expect the highest office in the country to have that much expenditure. And even if it is too much, the significance is exaggerated @N.Sid:
It will take a factory worker/laborer approximately 9 years to earn 1 million Rupees, if he is lucky to have a round the year job. Wow! What a miserly frugal daily expenditure of an elected representative.
Whoa! That's 365 Million PKR (3.7 Million USD) per year. I wonder how many shelter homes can be built with that money for homeless and IDPs
"Imran Khan on Friday had said that the PML-N government was wasting money while IDPs were dying of hunger and disease".
The money he is spending on worthless public meetings could have been used for the welfare of the IDPs.
Imran Khan stands exposed. Rs.30 Million monthly is peanuts for a rich country like Pakistan!
I dont which govt official said 1Million per day. He should open up the federal budget document for this year and read that it clearly states that 1.1 billion has been allocated for PM house expenditure. Which is around 2.8 million rupees per day.
Pmln always lies about govt expenditures
Why can't IK go and take care of the IDP's? They are the people who voted for him!
That is not what the budget allocation sums up to. Whenever a budget is allocated, the 24-hour cost of a unit is calculated. If the expenditure is Rs. 1m today, it doesn't mean it will be the same tomorrow, but there is always a constant base cost for a unit which includes daily utility bills, ration etc. I am not sure if PML-N is loosing its sense or they never had any.
They aren't even ashamed while saying daily expense is Rs 1 million. That means monthly 30 million.
Only 1,000,000 per day.
Imran Khan's words are filled with oppression and nullification. Instead of hitting others why doesn't he watch his own performance in KPK?
PM house forget to add united state of raiwind daily expenditure too. All sum up close to 4 millions. Accepting one millions for PM house is quite amazing when recently displaced 500000 people has not even have temp shelters.
Imran Khan should also lead from the front and donate his 300 canal house to be converted into an institution. Or sell the land and donate that amount to Namal education city. If he does it than i ma sure 99 percent of Pakistanis will held him in high esteem and he will sweep the next election.
Rs. 10,00,000 is still too much. A daily expenditure of $10,000? How is that even justifiable? How many servants do you have? You just need a maid, driver and cook. It's only you and a few other people in your house. Not more than 7 residents in the PM House but still a daily expenditure of $10,000? The amount of money that is spent on PM House daily is how much the average Pakistani makes after 5 YEARS. #NotaQadriguy
Right, so PM house is saying that 5 Million is a huge figure, we are just spending a meager 1 million. (10 Lac per day) on PM house and its just the perfect number to spend over a guy who normally says that Nation should have patience since we don't have much money.
Even one million per day(10 lacs) amounts to about 360 million per year(36 crores), which is very high for a poor country like Pakistan with teeming millions of poor people. When the prime minister of Great Britain can live in a small house(10 downing street) which is no more than 400 sq.yards. with a GDP of more than 2 trillion USD. Why can't the PM of Pakistan live in a small decent and functional house. The Extravagance and the luxuries are the two things which led to the downfall of Mughals.
