SWABI: A large cache of ammunition and police records were destroyed when a fire broke out in a record room of the Topi police station in Swabi due to a short circuit. Qaisar Khan, an official of the Topi police, said the fire erupted on Tuesday around 10am.  “A huge fire broke out inside the record room after which small blasts started occurring,” said Khan. The fire brigade was called in, which rushed to the site and extinguished the inferno. According to Khan, several hundred rounds of bullets which had been recovered from suspects and criminals during search operations were destroyed along with records. Fortunately, no human loss occurred. The official added an investigation is under way.
