LAHORE: Referring to the bloodshed that took place in Lahore on June 17, Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) Punjab president Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Saturday demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, the provincial party president remarked that "justice will not be served till the resignation of PM Nawaz and Punjab CM Shahbaz."

On June 17, at least 10 people were killed and dozens were injured during a clash between the police and workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT). The mayhem had occurred when the police tried to break the barriers outside the PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri’s residence and Adara Minhajul Quran’s Central Secretariat in Model Town Colony.

Elahi stated today that 30 PAT workers are still missing.

He also claimed that the "two Sharif brothers had told the police to teach the PAT workers a lesson," adding that the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) government has ruined the police and because of that the law and order situation is bad.

The PML-Q Punjab president demanded their resignations and said that they should face an inquiry which will expose the truth.

Elahi further stated that "the movement against the Model Town incident will not stop now."

@Aik_Paki: Whoever killed those innocent people should be given punishment more than death penalty, No one can make you beast if you r not beast from inside, Do you think you can kill and rob on superior orders, I cant bcos I believe in One who forbids me from this all. Police has over reacted, Police is major reason of crime in Pakistan. Now an independant commision should scrutinize who was behind this all. So demanding anything that will put this state fate at risk is intoleratable Like.. Mr. Qadri Sahib, Inqlaab final call (what that means getting power with power: isnt that a call for massive bloodshed) so we being Pakistani cant support any anorchy and fitna fassad.. Only demand biomatric system for 2019 elections, And get power through people and rule hearts not dead bodies..!!

@Naeem Khan Manhattan,Ks:

The Sharifs belong to the past now; they must take the poitical responsibility for the chaos in the country and the army takeover of KPK.
