A court on Friday sought comments from Misri Shah police by June 30 on a petition seeking the registration of a case against a factory owner and his aides for allegedly extending death threats to the petitioner.
Petitioner Zafar Iqbal told the additional district and sessions judge that Moeed Ahmad owned Muslim Soap Factory that had been polluting the area.
He said the city government had sealed the factory after he and some residents of the area had filed a complaint with the district coordination officer.
Iqbal said that Ahmad and his men were now threatening to kill him and were harassing his family members.
He said the Misri Shah station house officer had refused to register a case against the accused.
He requested the court to order the SHO to register a case.
