Police blame monetary dispute for attack at home

Four people, including a couple, were booked for beating a woman to death and injuring her daughter over a monetary dispute.

The police took possession of the body and initiated an investigation.

Complainant Asjad Majeed told the police that his mother Samina Bibi and sister Fatima were present at their home when Hamza Bajwa, his wife and some other people carrying sticks barged in and took Rs81,000 and a mobile phone from a closet.

The complainant stated that the accused beat Samina and Fatima with sticks before escaping.

The injured were shifted to a hospital, where Samina succumbed to her injuries. Saddar police handed over the body to the relatives of the deceased.

The police registered a case against the suspects nominated by the complainant on the charge of murder and started a search for them.

According to the SHO, the accused and the victims are related. “They had a dispute over money, because of which Samina Bibi was killed,“ he added.

Meanwhile, 50-year-old Muhammad Rafiq, living near Ada Johal, was fatally shot by a friend during a quarrel. The police shifted the dead body to a hospital and launch a hunt for the murderer.

In another incident, three men were booked for sexually assaulting a woman and recording a video.
