Bilateral ties: Pak-Indonesia trade surges

Trade quantum between Pakistan and Indonesia has reached $1.6 billion.

Consul General of Indonesia Rossalis R Adenan on Tuesday said that the trade quantum between Pakistan and Indonesia has reached $1.6 billion this year as compared to $700 million in 2010.


He hoped that after the agreements between Karachi and Jakarta Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the quantum of the trade has the potential of increasing further.  “The writing off the tax on 100 products under Professional Trade Agreements between Pakistan and Indonesia has provided the corridor to Pakistani products in Indonesian markets,” he added.


He was addressing traders, industrialists, exporters and importers at the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  Earlier, Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Senior Vice President Turab Ali Khoja in his welcome address said that the business community of the country was taking advantage of the trade agreement which was signed by the both countries.
