Taking notice of the delay in replacing the faulty transformer, she issued directives to the National Transmission and Dispatch Company managing director to provide another transformer in the next 72 hours to ease the sufferings of people.
According to a statement, the fault in the transformer has disturbed power supply to people living in Nowshera, Swabi, Mardan, Takht Bhai, Swat and some areas of Chitral because of heavy pressure on the grid station.
“The replacement of the transformer will bring solace for the people since they are facing tripping and low voltage besides unscheduled outages,” it said.
The water and power secretary also visited Peshawar Electric Supply Company’s (Pesco) sub-divisions of Toru, City 2, City and rural besides paying surprise visits to customer services centres and other offices. She directed the Pesco chief to take practical steps for improving service delivery.
She also took notice of delay by Pesco in providing power connections to the consumers in Mardan as there were around 900 pending cases. She called for immediately providing connections to the people and bringing them under the billing net.
