Terming them 'undemocratic', Khan lashed out at the Sharif brothers, holding them responsible for the clash between the police and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) supporters that left eight people dead and over 80 injured.
While addressing the media, Khan asserted that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif should resign from his position following the incident.
He further added that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's Rana Sanuallah Khan should also resign, while the IG Punjab should be put behind bars.
The PTI chief announced he would go to Lahore tomorrow (Wednesday) to discuss with his party, as well as other parties, what action to take against the Lahore incident, apart from the protest in Bahawalpur which will be held regardless.
Khan also took the opportunity to say that the Punjab Police is repeatedly used by the Sharif brothers for wrong purposes, including rigging during the May 11 elections.
He added that the Punjab government used the police to disrupt the peaceful protest and create fear among protesters to ruin Qadri’s movement.
The PTI chief said that along with today's incident, the Bahawalpur rally will also protest against rigging. He clarified he has no plan for a grand alliance so far and only wants results of the four constituencies where he believes rigging had taken place.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) Punjab president Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and Tahirul Qadri’s son held a joint press conference on Tuesday, where the former also condemned the incident.
He added that such an incident could not have taken place without the orders of the present rulers.
Earlier, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee announced a day of mourning tomorrow (Wednesday) against the violent clashes.
MQM leader Farooq Sattar, while speaking to the media in Lahore on Tuesday, stated the actions of the police were “undemocratic and barbaric.”

Good work Khan. Exert pressure on these Sharifs.
@Asma: Bravo....bravo....yes my dear imranies...how about this.
@Waseem Sarwar: Any good Muslim would love to go or to be sent to saudi arabia and yes imran should go to UK where his wife lives with her boyfriend and should take care of his children. isnt it amazing how people believe that a guy can take care of a country who could not even take care of his own family of 4 people including himself. Zardari ruled and he protested against Nawaz sharif. he was hand in hand with musharraf. filed complaints against MQM and then became a friend with them....exactly how he is different from other politicians? he did everything that others did. so, sit back and relax. Dont be fooled by this japani billi....peace out....
We should use Balance tune. Encroachments are illegal. If an officer go to TUQ office or home in Canada and told him that they were here to remove the illegal encroachments he will step aside and let them do their work. Same thing happened with Altaf Hussain Case. Why don't we respect the law in first place. I also condemns the excessive use of force of police which is no way can be justified, and the people responsible for that tragic incident on the both side should be brought to justice.
@ Asma I think common sense should be exercised before doing some maths. 2/3 of 18 crore? 18 crore people voted? Really? And out of the so-called 2/3 how many were genuine has been exposed again and again, NA-258, NA-118, PS,114, PP-07, just search these on google before DOING SOME MATHS. And everyone knows that the worst is yet to some, let the 4 constituencies (NA-122, NA-125, NA-110 and NA-154) be verified then the real fun will begin.
Fake votes: Do some maths...hypothetically how much is 2/3 of 18 crore? Dumb people dumb cries of fake votes
Incidents: Actually why doesnt IK leads the show by resigning himself? Every now and then we read about incident in KPK. If it that's cool to resign, then lets allow the coolest guy to first resign himself.
This fanatic is crying for Talibans and nothing else and once again supporting molvi with arms in their hands with the name of jahad and revolution - we don't want another Lal Masjid. This fanatic only for how to become PM and nothing else - and Insha Allah he will not.
@Anon: Why?
Good place to protest. Bahawalpur is owned by the Nawabs of Arabia
All agents of establishment are busy to destabilize the democracy. Shame for Imran.
Country is in the state of war. No need to protest to create political instability.
Opportunists.
@ all those criticising IK:
So you all don't want anyone to stand up for those 8 people who died? Were they not Pakistanis? or they were animals? I am happy someone is standing up for us. Come on guys we have to stand up to injustice. It is shameful that common people get killed (yes dead -- in the grave) on the street by state and we have the courage to come to the chat rooms and ask people to not protest. Are we dead already?
Shahbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah happily allow lunatics of ASWJ and LeJ to burn alive Christians, burn down their property, oversee the persecution and murder of Ahmadis, look the other way while shias and brelvis are slaughtered, but stopped police to take any action. Their good governance wakes up only when peaceful women and children, or clerks and doctors are protesting.
Why not protest the Canadian sick man behind all this. This sick person is doing everything in his power to destabilize us.
@Jibran: Where is saroor place? You mean pakistan has a Prime minister ho was not born in Pakistan?
Rex Minor
Imran Khan please leave the policy of confrontation for the sake of democracy. You can not win the hearts of the people by this way.
Its just 4 constituencies! Why don't pmln just agree to it! After all. ..if they won cleanly then what have they got to hide. They can prove thier point and shut up IK. Unless...??
Imran Khan seems to have an addiction for protests! And why protest in Bahawalpur when the incident was in Lahore? If you want to protest or raise objections then do so in parliament, stop looking for excuses to come out onto the streets. I can't believe I used to support this guy
Al-Sharif Family don't have any roots within Pakistan. They should go back to the Saroor Palace where they belong, minus Shahbaz Sharif. He should be tried for murder, and put behind bars.
Imran Khan, please leave the politics of confrontation for the sake of democracy. You can not win the hearts of peoples by this way.
The new IG Police was brought in and the reason officially made was that the previous one was too soft on the political opponents. He couldn't lift the "morale" of the police force. Clearly, Shahbaz Sharif had blood on his hands.
As a staunch PTI supporter I would urge Imran Khan not to go down this road....
@Mansoor Shaikh: You are fed up with his protests while rest of the country is fed up from this fake government which came into power with rigged elections. why should he go to UK? Shouldn't we send Sharif back to kingdom of Saudi Arabia?
I thought he wanted to protest against rigging. Amazing now he has a new excuse. Killing in Lahore, protest in Bahawalpur. Goes on to show intentions. Intentions are clear continue with protests mobilize people call interim elections, by hook or by crook become pm. Joker
Imran, please...... stop it , we are fed up of your protests and alliances. Give us a breakl and got to Uk.
CM Should Resign with immediate affect..
