LAHORE:

Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique and cricketer Umar Akmal administered anti-polio drops to children at the Government Dispensary in Gulberg on Monday.

Rafique said the special immunisation campaign against nine diseases would continue across the Punjab until June 30. From newborns to two years of age, children would be vaccinated against nine diseases. He said the aim of holding a special EPI drive was to highlight the importance of vaccination and cover the children who are yet to be vaccinated against these diseases. He said famous personalities from various professions had been invited to participate in the campaign because “people listen to their favourite personalities”. Akmal said immunisation was a fundamental right of children. He said he stood united with the Health Department “in this service to humanity.”
