ISLAMABAD:
The religious scholars have advised the people give Zakat only after thorough verification to avoid its misuse. They warned that various defunct outfits collect charity in Ramazan. Mufti Khubaib Suleman said people must avoid donating to dubious organisations to avoid misuse. Give Zakat to the nearest deserving persons, he advised. The most deserving were the victims of terrorism or bomb blast, he said. Mufti Shoaib said that the government was responsible to ensure strict vigil on various donation collecting organisations. He said the government must publish the names of banned organisations so that they could not collect charity.
