Rector International Islamic University (IIUI) Dr Masoom Yasinzai has urged Ulema and prayer leaders to inculcate tolerance into their followers. He addressed a workshop ”Towards Understanding Iqbal’s Thoughts in 21st Century“ at the Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue (IRD) at the IIUI on Friday, said a press release. More than 20 clerics and prayer leaders attended the workshop. Dr Yasinzai said Iqbal teaches values such as unity, brotherhood, humanity, kindness and tolerance. He said Iqbal’s poetry is full of inspiration for the youth and gives a complete understanding of life. He said those who lead prayers and deliver sermons at mosques have a responsibility to inculcate these values into the public. He asked the Ulema to make religion easy to understand for the common people. Participants while expressing their views said the workshop was a great opportunity for them to study Iqbal. They suggested including Iqbal’s works in the curricula of seminaries. Dr Yasinzai and Executive Director IIIRD Dr Mumtaz Ahmed later distributed certificates among the course participants.
