Led blast: Peace committee member injured

Gul was shifted to a hospital while a search was launched in the area.

KHAR: A peace committee volunteer was injured in a blast in Kamangara, Nawagai in Bajaur Agency on Wednesday. According to Abdul Malik, a political administration official, peace committee member Zafar Gul was injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off on Kacha Road, Kamangara. Gul was shifted to a hospital while a search was launched in the area. Last week, an official of the security forces was killed when an IED exploded in the same area. Attacks on peace committee members have been on the rise over the past few weeks. Safi, Dawazai and Ambar committee members were killed in Mohmand in IED blasts, and the responsibility was claimed by a local chapter of the Taliban.
