Police encounters: Alleged criminal shot, two others arrested

The policemen shot back in retaliation.

KARACHI: An alleged criminal was killed while his accomplice, Akmal Buksh, was arrested during an alleged encounter with the police in New Karachi on Sunday. The police said that the deceased was identified as Sadaqat Hussain. Buksh and Hussain had another accomplice who managed to escape. SHO Chaudhry Afzal said that the encounter took place when police personnel were carrying out their routine patrols and tried to stop the suspects who were travelling in a taxi. The policemen shot back in retaliation. This led to one of the suspects being killed and another arrested. In Orangi Town, an alleged criminal identified as Arshad Fateh was arrested after a shoot out with the police in Orangi Town within the limits of Pakistan Bazaar police station.
