Advocate General K-P Latif Yousufzai has submitted a report on behalf of Deputy Commissioner Karak in the Supreme Court over the alleged illegal occupation of Hundu shrine by local extremists in district Karak.
The provincial government in its report has expressed apprehension that Oil & Gas Exploration companies are in field at various places for symmetric survey, therefore, any action against the illegal occupation of Hindu shrine land will likely to aggravate the un-rest amongst the people under the influence of local Aalim Molana Muhammad Sharif, who is opposing the construction/eviction of Hindu temple.
Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, a patron of Pakistan Hindu Council (PHC), who has brought up the issue in the top court, said that he had informed the illegal occupation of Hindu Shrine to PTI chief Imran Khan, senior leader of PTI Shah Mahmood Queraishi and local MNA of PTI Nasir Khan but they did not taking action in this regard.
“It is test case for PTI that how the provincial government retrieves the Hindu Shrine’s land from influential persons”, he adds.
The K-P government’s report has also disclosed that local politician and ex-MNA of Jamaat-e-Islami Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz was also against the implementation of nine year old Jirga’s decision in favour of Hindu community.
Giving background of the issue, the report says that a Hindu namely Shri Param Hans Ki Mehaj living in Teri village had died in 1919 and was buried there as his followers often visited the shrine after his death and this practice continued till 1997. The copy of report is available with The Express Tribune.
“Some local extremists dismantled it. The issue came to lime light when some Hindu followers of Shrine Param Hans attempted to restore the old path leading to the shrine which though was evacuee property but occupied by one local Mufti Iftikharud Din”
The provincial government further told that Hindu elders from Sindh province tried to negotiate privately with Mufti and pad Rs 375,000 as cost of land occupied by him but the said mufti despite getting the money from minority MPA Ghian Chand did not vacate the land in 1997.
The report further says that minority MPAs have tried their best to get the land from the Mufti, which they had purchased in 1997 but failed.
“Several meetings between local Ulemas led by Mulana Muhammad Sharif and Hindu elders from Sindh were held but Mulana Muhammad Sharif, who has a great influence in Tehsil Banda Daud Shah, was in no mood to let the Hnidus get their right”
It is also stated on February 24, 2005, a jirga was also held over this issue and it was announced in public that Hindus will start their renovation work on the sharine but Molana Sharif did not accept the Jirga’s verdict.
“Maulana Abdul Aziz opposed construction of “Mandar” in Teri, he in support of his contention had hold a meeting of Khatak tribes which they held at Nasak Baba on April 2005 where they had expressed un-willing regarding construction of Mandar and that they would not hesitate to take any action need to this effect”
The report also says that Maulana Aziz contention is that being a religious issue, it cannot be resolved through a Jirga decision rather a committee of senior Muftis and Ulema’s should give a religious verdict on the matter.
It is to be noted that the Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani while hearing the matter on June 4 has asked AG K-P to consult chief minister for resolving this issue before June 16.

Please check again. I do not see any such comment from MY end. Thanks.
@Sanjei, from your comments on June 7th, 2014, 10:59 PM you showed a disrespect to Pakistani institutions by saying that "Every party in Pakistan is a religious party, some overtly and all others covertly. All of Pakistan’s institutions and politicians are also the same", if that is the case then why you complaining of local Mulas and others.
@Sanjei, if there was a shrine as they (Hindus) claim, then why they start struggle to build a MAZZAR after 1980, why they didn't asked for that after partition in 1947? And other thing is if there was a shrine then where are the followers? Because never heard about the followers of Shri Param Hans ji Mehraj.
@Niaz khan
This uncalled for allegations ploy has been used from day one. The FIR of 15.8.1997 registered with Teri Police station, bearing signatures of then SDM and SDM, talks about facts, clearly. Subsequently report of a local journalist Mr. Lal jan Khatak on the issue narrates the entire story. It has been clarified time and again that Hindus do cremate their dead bodies but high calibre Sufi saints (Mystics) are invariably buried, in sitting posture.
During Jirga held during 2005, by Islamic Scholars committee, constituted under CM Directives, under leadership of Maulana Hassan Jan sb, all such issues were raised. But the unanimous decision by committee, which included local Mufties too, dispelled / wiped out all such baseless stories. Consequently announcement of judgment (FATWA) in Teri mosque by Maulana Atta ur Rahman sb and issuance of C.M. Directive for implementation, talks categorically all about the truth.
Mr. Akram Khan Durrani then CM KP (then NWFP) is now Federal Minister. He can be contacted to inquire the truth behind, as to whether it is conspiracy in border area, as alleged or a genuine struggle since 1980s, to have access to holy grave (MAZAAR) of our spiritual Master, Shri Param Hans ji Mehraj, available in record of Evacuee Trust Property (ETP) Board. Copies of two earlier decisions Chairman ETP (Fateh Md. Hasni sb. and Qayoom Nizami sb) and then decision of Federal Secretary Religious n Minorities affairs are also available on record, in support of our claim. Therefore, things are clear with no ambiguity at all.
@Sanjai Talreja, its all a drama there is no Shrine in that area, because its not in Hindu religion to buried the dead body. So its something else which the Hindu community want in KPK, or may be the location of TERI as it is located very near to border area of Afghanistan, so the Hindu Community may be wanted some type of access to that area.
The last committee including CM KPK at that time decided after visit to the place that there is no Shrine around that area. Its a bias approach to ask for some place and demand to built a new shrine and then get access to some sort of intelligence.
@Sanjai Talreja Adv.: Your family's efforts are commendable. I appeal to all the reasonable-minded people in Pakistan to step in and put an end to this religious persecution of the minority communities in Pakistan. As a hindu, I am opposed to the Babri masjid insanity as well. Will the media in Pakistan do the right thing and highlight the atrocity that is being committed here?
@ModiFied: That pact is not in force anymore.
PTI is another JI. What do you expect?
Since there is no political gain, hence i dont see if PTI, Imran Khan would take any action, when it comes to any minority's right every party has its own vested interest of not to displease its voters, specially when its base is in province like KPK only.
Although, there are very littles hopes, yet fingers are crossed.
And yet Pakistanis will want to talk about Babri which happened 22 years back.
Why would Pakistan take any action against injustices against minorities? They have a convenient "moral" cover - they are not secular ! If the rest of the world does not respect you, this hypocrisy is one of the reasons. Muslims could get away with this sort of thing when they held sway over the subcontinent. But times they are a-changin. Accept what might come your way with the same grace. ( I use the word "secular" in the context of its usage in Pakistan. Even the so-called erudite class in Pakistan fail to understand the meaning of that word. It is variously believed to imply either agnosticity or a contempt for Islam)
Pitiful.the Hindu of Pakistan is also a human being and your resource. We agree with ramesh and want it back because it is our right. Rab rakha
Time for India to intervene under Nehru-Liyakat agreement between two countries.
This action should have a reaction in India and then things will become aright.
This guy Imran Khan, who has created the PTI, sheds crocodile tears over the "rights" of Muslims in India whereas his own fundamentalist bedfellows are desecrating places of worship of Hindus, Sikhs and Christians in Pakistan. I would urge the Indian Government to take up at the UN this blatant violation of the right of religion of minorities in Pakistan which has the temerity to talk about the "injustice" to Indian Muslims who are very embarrassed by the persecution of minorities in Pakistan and feel terrible whenever Pakistan claims to be their spokesperson. Do civilized and tolerant Pakistanis not realize what Imran Khan and his street thugs are doing to the reputation of Pakistan which has degenerated into a pariah state and Is considered even worse than rogue nations such as Somalia, North Korea, Libya, etc.? Human Rights Watch, Amnesty, UNCHR and others have fiercely criticized Pakistan for its institutionalized and systematic annihilation of minorities.
This seems like a long battle. This truly is a test for PTI and the K-P Government to look into this issue personally and take all efforts to resolve this matter.
Not handing over the possession even after the decision of the Jirga in the favour of Hindus is a sign of sheer injustice. It seems here that the decision of local Mullahs of the village is more powerful and privileged than the decision of the Jirga, where it was already decided that the Shrine should be handed over to their rightful owner, who even paid the money for the land which was basically an evacuee trust property.
Hoping that the Supreme Court's decision and the efforts of local Govt. would override the illegal opposition and resistance of local Mullahs and justice / fairness will pave its way out. Fingers crossed!!!
Who says that religious parties have not won elections or have formed government in Pakistan? Every party in Pakistan is a religious party, some overtly and all others covertly. All of Pakistan's institutions and politicians are also the same.
