Drive safe: ‘Fasten seat belts, avoid cell phones’

Regional Police Officer Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir said road signs would be put up on all major roads of the city.

SARGODHA: Motorways Police Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmed Cheema said on Friday that carelessness of drivers cost 13,000 people their lives in traffic accidents every year. He advised people to wear seat belts and not use cell phones while driving. He was addressing a seminar organised at the University of Sargodha on road safety. Addressing the seminar, Cheema said dedicated officers were needed to curb crime. He said a society that ensured rule of law could not be defeated. University of Sargodha Vice Chancellor Mohammad Akram Chaudhry said the university maintained discipline on campus. Regional Police Officer Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir said road signs would be put up on all major roads of the city.
