Turkey has assured its continuous support to Pakistan during disasters as wells as peacetime.
This assurance was given by Turkish Ambassador Babur Girgin during his visit to the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) headquarters on Monday, said a press release issued by the society.
The envoy discussed collaboration between the Turkish Red Crescent (TRC) and its Pakistani counterpart.
PRCS chairman Dr Saeed Elahi thanked the people of Turkey and the TRC for their assistance. He said Turkey had been among the first countries to respond to any disaster in Pakistan.
He said the society aims to increase the number of its volunteers to five million by 2016.
The envoy appreciated the steps taken by the society and hoped that cooperation between the two national societies will increase in future.
Girgin said Turkey will continue its cooperation with Pakistan in various areas.
