WAPDA remain top after win over PAF

KARACHI: Wapda continued to dominate the Pakistan Premier League table as they defeated Pakistan Air Force (Paf) 2-0.

Muhammad Afzal scored the opening goal of the match in the 38th minute as Wapda led 1-0 at the interval. The seven-time national champions sealed the win through striker Khuda Bakhsh who scored with only two minutes remaining. Courtesy the win, Wapda now have 44 points in the league while PAF stand sixth with 25 points.

Karachi Port Trust (KPT) drew against Afghan Football Club 2-2 after taking the lead in the 29th minute of the match through Muhammad bin Younus.

He then doubled the score seven minutes later as KPT led 2-0 at the interval. However, Afghan FC hit back through Jadeed Khan who scored in the 77th minute and Ahmed Shah, who netted the equaliser in the 80th minute to earn a share of the points.

In the other matches of the day, Pakistan Army’s Mubashir Hussain scored the match-winning goal against Young Blood FC in injury time while Baloch FC stunned Pakistan International Airlines 1-0 in Karachi.
