Dengue count rises to 22 in Faisalabad

The district health department is taking all the necessary steps to prevent an outbreak of the virus.

FAISALABAD/ RY KHAN: The number of dengue patients in Faisalabad has increased to 22 as one of the two Toba Teka Tek Singh residents brought to the Allied Hospital on Monday has tested positive for the virus.

As many as 15 dengue patients have been admitted to the Allied Hospital and seven to the district headquarters (DHQ) hospital to date. Zahid Rafiq, a resident of Chak no 284 GB and Mubarak Ali, a resident of Chak no 331 JB, were brought to the Toba Tek Singh DHQ hospital with high fever on Monday. The district health department is taking all the necessary steps to prevent an outbreak of the virus. Meanwhile, a new information desk has been set up at the Shaikh Zayed Hospital in Rahim Yar Khan to assist dengue patients and their relatives with information and in the hospital admission process.
