Late night heist: Gold stolen in house robbery

A robber was injured when the police tried to stop them.

BAHAWALPUR: As many as 10 armed men broke into the house of jeweller and took away gold worth Rs3 million and prize bonds.

Police said 10 men broke into the house of jeweller Haji Muhammad Akhtar Bhatti, resident of Muhallah Bhattian and tied up his family.  They took away 30 tolas gold and prize bonds worth Rs350,000. Police said they were alerted to robbery by some neighbours. When they arrived at the house, the robbers tried to flee.  A robber was injured when the police tried to stop them. The rest of them fled. The robbers left behind two cars, a driver and their injured accomplice.
