A Russian diplomat said on Friday that prospects of defence cooperation between Pakistan and his country were bright.
Speaking at a discussion titled ‘Pakistan-Russia Bilateral Relations’, the political counsellor of the Russian Embassy in Islamabad Andrey Shabalin said the two countries were working on how to kickstart their defence cooperation.
Shabalin cautioned that the process for laying the basis for long-term defence cooperation could be a protracted one. “The good thing is that we have at least begun working on that,” he said.
Besides defence cooperation, the Russian official listed the various projects in which Moscow could be interested.
These include the conversion of the Muzaffargarh Thermal Power Station to coal; rehabilitation and expansion of Pakistan Steel Mills.

This is great news
Why to spend money on the obsolete Russian technology? And why we need arms, ever our army has won any battle? Our people don't have to eat and we spent money on army, defence, all rubbish.
Russia has always been willing to sale arms to anyone who has the cash - of course if selling arms to Pakistan means losing India as a customer I suspect they might tell Pakistan - thanks but no.

Sorry mate, either Russians are not interested or your "moles" are pathetic because Pak JF-17 Fighter Jet is doing wonder with Russian Engine RD-93 (RD-93 is an improve derivative of RD-33 which powers India MiG-29s).
