Creating bridges: UoP, Chinese varsity start joint PhDs

A Chinese language and cultural centre will also be established in Peshawar.

In a step towards the ‘internationalisation’ of higher education, the University of Peshawar (UoP) and Shandong University of Science and Technology in China have agreed to create a bridge between their respective PhD programmes. According to a UoP press release, the agreement was signed by UoP VC Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan and Shandong University President Dr Ren Tingqi in Shandong, China. It will remain effective for three years. The institutions will start a split PhD programme and cooperate in areas such as teaching, research, workshops, training research students and joint academic publications. A Chinese language and cultural centre will also be established in Peshawar.
