Till recently Major Gen Hafiz Masroor Ahmed was serving as the force commander in Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) for the Pakistani army.
Earlier in April this year, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) had voted unanimously to partially life the arms embargo in Cote d'Ivoire in order to differentiate between legal and non-legal arms.
In March of this year, United Nation’s Department of Peacekeeping Operations (DPKO) Herve Ladsous has stated that Pakistani peacekeepers were valued for their commitment and professionalism and praised the positive role they had played in UN Peacekeeping Missions in Congo, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire, Darfur, Haiti, Kosovo and Western Sahara.
Earlier in February Lt-Gen Maqsood Ahmed of the Pakistan military was appointed as the military adviser to the UN.

@Aly Shah:
The big contributors to UN (including India) have one thing in common .. they all receive more money from the UN than they pay their soldiers ... in short .. they make money on this "contribution".
I don't see any Indian comments on this story? Never doubt the professionalism of Pak Army.
Known for terrorism and corruption Pakistan also has the largest number of troops on UN safe keeping mission.. Great Achievement.
