FAISALABAD:

Three people, including a man and his sister, were shot and killed over an old enmity in Tandlianwala on Sunday, police said.

They said Suleman Khan, a resident of village 418 GB, was at dera when Nambardar Intizar Ahmad and his accomplices came there and opened fired.

Suleman, 45, his sister Gullan Bibi, 40, and nephew Jahan Khan, 13, were shot and died instantly.

Suleman’s relative Navid Khan said Suleman had a property dispute with Ahmad. He said the dispute had claimed four lives on both sides in the past.

“Elders from both sides have tried to mediate several times but to no avail,” he stated.

On Sunday, he said, Ahmad along with some of his accomplices, including Sadiq and Salim, stormed Suleman’s place and killed him, Bibi and Jahan. He said the killing had triggered panic in the area.

A large contingent of police, headed by the Tandlianwala station house officer, reached the crime scene and moved the bodies to a mortuary for autopsy.

The SHO told The Express Tribune that a case had been registered against six people, including Intizar, Sadiq and Salim. He said they were now waiting for a medical report. “A police team has also been tasked with arresting the accused who have fled,” he said.
