PIA restructuring: Dar for protecting employes’ interest

ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday said that interest of the employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) should be protected in the process of restructuring of the national carrier. Talking to Shujaat Azeem, PM’s Advisor on Aviation who called on him, the minister said the process of acquiring more planes for the airline should be put on fast track for facilitation of the passengers and the people. He assured him of government’s complete support for bringing financial stability to the national airline. Dar appreciated the efforts, being made by the adviser to upgrade PIA and steps being taken to improve its performance. Earlier Shujaat Azeem, briefed the finance minister on the reforms being introduced in PIA.
