Under Investigation: ASI suspended for running torture cell
Source claims ASI was allegedly apprehending and torturing people at a police checkpost in the area.
KARACHI:
The police department has suspended an Assistant Sub-Inspector of the Aziz Bhatti police station for allegedly running a torture cell in Shanti Nagar. A source in the force claimed that ASI Jabbar Abro was allegedly apprehending and torturing people at a police checkpost in the area. He would also ask people for money for their release. SSP East Pir Muhammad Shah has suspended Abro and has constituted an inquiry committee under the supervision of SP Gulshan-e-Iqbal for investigating the case.
