National conference: SZABIST to continue promoting research

More than 75 research papers were presented by scholars on multiple thematic issues.

Breaking down barriers and promoting geographical, social, cultural, environmental as well as economic knowledge should be the utmost priority of a university, said the president of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology (Szabist), Shahnaz Wazir Ali.


At the inaugural session of Szabist's 20th National Research Conference on computing, engineering, management sciences, and social sciences on Saturday, Ali said that Szabist was dedicated to promoting research.

The conference chair and dean of computing and engineering sciences at Szabist, Professor Dr M Altaf Mukati, highlighted the importance of university research. "Szabist is a responsible academia that will continue with its research efforts," he said. "We spend our resources on research activities, such as organising research-based conferences, seminars and forums, and publishing research journals."

Hamdard University's adviser to vice-chancellor, Prof Dr Abdul Rehman Memon, who was also the chief guest of the conference, highlighted several new engineering fields of study that have recently been introduced including, water and irrigation engineering, electrical  and circuit engineering, and electrical engineering law of induction.

More than 75 research papers were presented by scholars on multiple thematic issues during the conference. The conference was also attended by vice president administration and finance Nasreen Haque, and all other faculty members and staff.
