The Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP) on Saturday announced that it will soon launch a housing scheme for engineers besides establishing a welfare fund.
While speaking at a gathering of engineers on the Engineers’ Day here, IEP-Rawalpindi-Islamabad Centre Chairman Engr Hussain Ahmad Siddiqui said that proposals were also under consideration to provide professional training to the young engineers.
He said that during the training, skill development sessions would be conducted to enhance their capacities to prepare them to pace with the advanced trends in the engineering field.
While highlighting the recent initiatives taken by IEP for professional development of engineers, Siddiqui said they have embarked on new areas, such as adopting emerging technologies, promoting state-of-the-art skills, developing entrepreneurship and providing high-tech employment for young engineers.
The IEP, the apex national body of the professional engineers, is playing a pivotal role in improving its members’ expertise to undertake various projects, he said.
