MIRAMSHAH:

Security forces have arrested 55 suspects in a search operation launched after Thursday’s bombing in Ghulam Khan tehsil of North Waziristan Agency in which nine Frontier Corps officials were killed and one critically injured.

A security official said the suspects were under interrogation while a curfew remained imposed across the agency. Government offices and educational institutions were closed in the agency while businesses were also shut down due to which a high number of people were stranded at the Miramshah bus stand and on the Bannu-Miramshah Road.

An official of the political administration said dozens of families have moved out of their homes and gone to Khost, Afghanistan.
