Glenn Maxwell scored a stupendous 90 off just 38 deliveries as Kings XI Punjab defeated Chennai Super Kings by 44 runs in the Indian Premier League, being played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack. Batting first, Maxwell and David Miller (47) destroyed the opposition’s bowling attack, hitting 10 sixes combined. Only Mohit Sharma’s effort was worth mentioning, as he picked up two scalps, including the one of Maxwell, who was near his ton for the fourth time this season. Punjab compiled a mammoth 231 runs in their 20 overs, the highest score of the season. In reply, Chennai valiantly attempted to chase the target, with Faf du Plessis scoring a wonderful 50 off just 25 balls, but the Super Kings could only achieve 187 for 6 in their allotted overs.
