Indian Premier League: Sharma guides Mumbai to victory

Indecisive bowling from Royal Challengers Bangalore set up a second consecutive home win.

A stellar innings by Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard and some indecisive bowling from Royal Challengers Bangalore set up a second consecutive home win for the Mumbai Indians by 19 runs in the Indian Premier League, being played at the Wankhede Stadium. Chidhambaram Gautam’s 30 off 28 provided a smooth start for Mumbai but it was the combination of Sharma and Pollard in the latter part of the game that propelled them to a massive target of 187 for five in their 20 overs. Sharma scored a brilliant 59 off 35 and Pollard chipped in with a quick-fire 43 off 31. No bowler stood out for Bangalore as everyone was thrashed out of the park. A valiant effort by Virat Kohli, who contributed 35 off 28, was not enough for Bangalore.
