The soldier was killed at 11:45 in the morning as a result of firing from Afghanistan.
Previous incidents
On May 1, Afghan security officials claimed that their troops killed 60 militants near the border. Afghan Interior Ministry spokesman Sediq Sediqqi said five Afghan soldiers were injured during the attack.
And earlier in September last year, the government had lodged a strong protest with Kabul after Afghan security forces killed at least five Pakistani citizens close to the Pak-Afghan border in Balochistan.
“The Afghan charge d’affaires was summoned to the Foreign Office and a strong protest was lodged over indiscriminate firing by Afghan border police near Godwana village, Zhob district, which resulted in the martyrdom of five innocent Pakistanis,” said the foreign ministry statement.

@babulal: Still you have tense relations with all your neihbours
@India: and what are your troops doing inside Afghanistan?
Beware! Pakistan, no more adventurous activities at the border, it just won't be tolerated, Afghanistan Army have been equipped with Sniper rifles to take a shot at your head.
The better solution is just pull back army form there and deploy local as guard , trust me they can do much better than to regular army. It will help two ways one locals will get jobs and other they would be more effective compare to regular army .
Very sad. Poor soldiers giving their lives for a country whose own citizens are antagonizing each other.
@AF:
Why isn't the army doing its job of defending the borders, a job it is well paid for.A
Afghanistan army has hate narrative against Pakistan. There is many reasons for it. Afghanistan Intelligence agency also after Pakistan. And There president blame Pak for rear bomb explosion relatively peaceful Kabul than to Peshawar
Let me guess, just like drones our army also needs government approval to retaliate against Afghans firing across the border! Why doesn't the field commanders install a hotline with the PM house and directly seek orders from NS. Is there anything the ISPR can do besides releasing such nonsensical news?
Why not remove troops from the border? Afghanistan troops aren't going to invade Pakistan and the troops don't seem to stop Taliban from coming/go at will. Further .. each time there is a border incident the ISPR says the other side initiated combat .. yet there are plenty of reports filed by the Americans, Indians, and Afghans which complain about coming under fire by Pakistani troops without provocation.
@Emran: When Pakistani government doesnt care about its soldiers then why would others. No sense of honor/respect in govt.
Cross border firing happens with all the borders Pakistan shares the border. The same doesn't happen between India or China,Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal. Nor, does this happen between Afghanistan and Tajikistan, china, and Iran with whom Afghanistan shares a border. Pakistan shares the border with India, China, Iran, Afghanistan. Cross border firing happens only between Pakistan and Iran, India, Afghanistan except with China for whatever selective reasons. It is time Pakistan ascertains the rational behind such adventure, it would be more beneficial for the soldiers who lose their lives due to improper guidance from the nearby mosque mullah.
as an indian I condemn the killing of your soldier but atleast now your army needs to stop provoking neighbours.
Now Afghanistan, too!!!
Is there anyone to care about lives of Pakistani soldiers?
pakistani army should stop intimidating neighbor with their nefarious agenda..It would be healthier for the peace of region.
Avenge him!Period!
Pakistan is always the innocent victim.☺
