A man and two sons were killed and a girl was injured in a clash between two groups over a petty dispute at Madina Town, in Rawalpindi on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Tariq Masih, his two sons — Irfan Masih and Haroon Masih — were killed and Qamar Bibi was injured allegedly by their rivals, Asif Masih and Aslam Masih.
According to police sources, a brawl between Tariq Masih, a shopkeeper and Asif Masih, the owner of a snooker club, some two weeks ago over a petty dispute. However, a jirga resolved the dispute between the two parties.
About 9pm on Friday, Asif Masih and Aslam Masih along with 15 to 20 men equipped with clubs, daggers and pistols attacked Tariq Masih and his sons. The attackers thrashed their rivals and opened fire on them killing them on the spot.
They escaped from the scene. A heavy contingent of police, led by SHO Saddar Bairuni police station Raja Rashid, cordoned off the area.
Later, Rescue 1122 was called which shifted the bodies to district headquarters hospital.
However, no arrests have been made till the filing of this report.
