The first polo match of the capital after the inauguration of the picturesque new ground was held by Serena Hotels this Saturday. The exhibition match took place at the beautiful Islamabad Club Polo Ground between the Serena Mustangs and Serena Warriors, said a press release.

The evening opened with a showcase match between youngsters from the polo academy, who rode confidently through the field while tussling over the ball. The professionals soon followed, clad in orange and black. Serena Hotels CEO Aziz Boolani formally opened the match by pitching the first ball onto the field. Each chukker was an enthralling show of equestrian skill, as riders darted between around the field. In the end, the Serena Mustangs defeated the Serena Warriors by a score of 7 - 4.

The audience, consisting of diplomats, government officials and businesspersons, came out in great numbers to watch the match. The festive ambiance was evident through the cheer and colour.

Boolani announced that after having successfully organised two annual Golf tournaments and the ‘Adventure Diplomacy’ expedition, whereby two young Pakistani mountaineers are on their way to conquering the Seven Summits in seven continents, Serena Hotels will now host an annual polo cup as well.
