Awareness: FBR members promote new e-portal
The workshop was attended by a large number of withholding agents.
LAHORE:
The Federal Board of Revenue organised a ‘Facilitation Workshop on E-portal Services of FBR; Rules and Responsibilities of Withholding Agents’ at Directorate General of Training (DOT) on Monday. The workshop was attended by a large number of withholding agents from different business organisations under the jurisdiction of the regional tax office Lahore. The roles and responsibilities of withholding agents were explained in depth and awareness of e-services for taxpayers was also discussed in detail. In her opening remarks, FBR member of facilitation and taxpayer education, Riffat Shaheen Qazi said the workshop aimed to ensure a comprehensive interaction between the taxpayers and the tax deducting authorities. She encouraged the participants to freely and openly discuss their problems regarding the withholding tax and give their input for improvement of the withholding tax regime. A detailed e-portal/website awareness presentation was given by the FATE Wing Webmaster Abdul Sammi.
