ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday appreciated security institutions, particularly the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), for ensuring peace and security in the country.

Presiding over a high level meeting in Islamabad, the prime minister said that all institutions will continue to work in synergy for the protection of public.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Director-General ISI Lt General Zaheerul Islam were all present in the meeting.

The prime minister reiterated the government’s determination to take every step possible for the security of the nation.

Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan apprised the meeting between the Taliban committee and the government committee, and said that the Taliban committee has been asked to set a clear direction for result-oriented dialogue.

He expressed concern regarding the incidence of terror attack while peace talks were underway. He added that it is time to make the ongoing dialogue process productive and that the Taliban committee had been asked to discuss the agenda of the Taliban Shura.

Khwaja Asif is where he is due to the votes of the people, why should he be shown the door. If the khaki people are so sensitive, they ought to stop poking their noses into matters like hiding a criminal and an usurper of the constitution in a military run cardiology institute for three months on account of a phony cardiac complication. When you deliberately engage yourself in the business of coal mining, your face will be blackened.
