LAHORE:

Former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, Mian Israr-ul-Haq, said on Saturday that the lawyers’ community in Pakistan believed in the supremacy of law.

He said he was proud of his association with the Lahore Bar Association - largest bar in Asia. He was addressing lawyers at a meeting at Aiwan-i-Adl called to pay tribute to him. He said lawyers did not favour violence in politics. Haq also said that medical equipment should be provided to the LBA for blood-tests, which lawyers could use instead of going to hospitals. Al-Khidmat Foundation Director Shakeel Thakar said they were ready to install filtration plants if LBA gave them the area.

LBA President Chaudhary Ishtiaq vowed to start work on a hospital for lawyers.
