Ahead of PM’s visit: Four policemen killed in ambush

The police mobile was on routine patrol when assailants fired a rocket and automatic weapons on the mobile.

QUETTA: Four policemen were gunned down by militants in Shehansha area of Chattar overlooking Uch Power plant in Drea Murad Jamali on Thursday. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is due to visit Uch Power Plant today on Friday to inaugurate a power project. Banned militant outfit Baloch Republican Army (BRA) spokesman Sarbaz Baloch called the local journalists and claimed the responsibility for killing the four police personnel. According to Chattar SHO Ali Hassan, the police mobile was on routine patrol when assailants positioned on a hilltop fired a rocket and automatic weapons on the mobile van killing all four police officials and escaped. Police and law enforcement agencies reached the scene and cordoned off the area for collecting evidence. The deceased were identified as ASI Kareem Bakhsh Bhangar, Hawaldar Rawat Domki, Constable Sadora Khan Pahore and Constable Abdul Wahid Bakhsh Parkani. Security has been increased in Dera Murad Jamali for the expected visit of PM Nawaz Sharif.
