Reviving relations: Afghan envoy calls for understanding Iqbal’s philosophy

He says Iqbal’s poetry was true reflection of love and affection he had for Afghanistan and its people.

Relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan can be improved through understanding the poetry and philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Janan Mosa Zai, Ambassador of Afghanistan said.


 He was addressing the opening ceremony of an international conference on Iqbal at the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) on Wednesday.


He said that Iqbal’s poetry was the true reflection of the love and affection he had for Afghanistan and its people. “This should be a guiding star and a binding force for the people of the Central and South Asian region, in particular, and Muslims of the world, in general.


HEC Chairman Dr Mukhtar Ahmed said the conference would help students, scholars and academia broaden their understanding of Iqbal’s universal message.


Earlier, scholars including Dr Durmus Bulgur of Istanbul University, Dr Muhammad Akram Ikram from Punjab University, Dr Allah Bakhsh, Dr Raisuddin, Hakeema Dastranji from Tehran, Dr Ghahrman Solemani, Deputy Chairman Sa’adi Foundation, Iran, and others presented their papers on Iqbal’s philosophy and poetry.
