LAHORE: The Lahore High Court Bar Association has requested the government not to allow former president Pervaiz Musharraf to leave the country.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, LHCBA president Shafqat Mahmood Chohan said it appeared that Musharraf’s departure for Karachi was a step towards sending him abroad so he could avoid his treason trial. Chohan said if the government took any steps to send Musharraf abroad, the LHCBA would look into its protest options including action through courts.

Yes, Musharraf should not be allowed to flee from the country. He should face the honourable courts and prove his innocence.
