The body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for identification. Jadoon's cousin, Tariq, who is a police inspector said the deceased was incharge of the district Zakat committee and was associated with the real estate business. The PML-N leader was reportedly kidnapped on Monday as he made his way to North Karachi.

In an unrelated incident, a young Shia man was gunned down near Ancholi Society within the limits of Samanabad police station. The deceased was identified as Sajid Raza, 30, a resident of Block-18 Federal B Area. According to the inquiry officer, Jan Muhammad, the deceased used to work at a private computer firm and was on his way home when four men on two motorcycles opened fire at his vehicle. The officer said the attackers were dressed in private security guard uniforms.

In North Nazimabad another Shia man was shot dead within the jurisdiction of the Sharae Noor Jahan police station. The deceased was identified as Shahid Hussain. DSP Iftikhar Lodhi said Hussain used to run a private hospital and was on the road when he was targeted by unidentified motorcyclists.

In Malir, an alleged gangster was killed and a police inspector was injured in an exchange of fire between two rival groups. They added that ASI Allah Bachayo was injured in the clash that followed the firing when the police tried to arrest men from both groups. The police believe that both the groups were from Lyari and have launched an operation in the area to arrest suspects.
