Churches across the city celebrated Easter with traditional reverence and fervour on Sunday.
Large prayer congregations were held at Cathedral Church on The Mall and Saint Anthony’s Church.
Food stalls were set up outside churches. Easter celebrations started with morning masses. Most churches of the city opened at around 10.30am and remained open till noon.
Christians prayed for peace and progress of the country. Churches were decorated with lights and garlands for the day. Reverend Shahid Miraj of Cathedral Church said Easter was a day of victory and triumph over sin and death.
“It is on this day that Jesus emerged triumphant over the forces of evil and darkness,” he said. City parks and Lahore Zoo received a large numbers of visitors on Easter.
